Our primary directive is not only to produce Black Belts, but to achieve optimum levels of energy, self-discipline, confidence, and physical fitness. Our goal is to help our members become the best person they can be!

Individually, as well as in groups, our instructors work tirelessly towards achieving this end. Regardless of the student’s ability, we encourage them to train regularly for steady progress. Martial Arts Benefits
Centuries ago, the martial arts were important as a means of empty-handed self-defense. Today, they are equally effective in enabling us to “defend” ourselves against the negative influences of modern life. We teach children to say “NO” to drugs and “YES” to a healthy body and mind. We condition adults to meet the rigors of everyday life by focusing on positive values – a healthy mind, body and spirit. We encourage all of our students to develop themselves to their maximum potential – to take proper care of their bodies through exercise, rest and proper nutrition – to take the same diligent care of their spirits and minds by motivating every one of them to undertake the life-long journey towards self-actualization.

Communication: How to listen more effectively and how to listen without judgments or criticisms. Also, how to speak more effectively, how to handle upsets, how to get along with others and how to make friends easier.

Motivation: Discover new keys to stay motivated from within for martial arts, academics, work and personal life.

Co-operation & Support: Teamwork and mutual support are developed quickly through situations where each person is a key part of each other’s success.

Courage & Self-Confidence: Students develop new self-reliance and inner strength through special martial arts exercises called Katas. For many this is one of the most impacting and gratifying experiences of their lives.

What does it take to become a Black Belt?

A

Personal commitment – dedication not only to the training program but to yourself. You will find that most other students holding Black Belts or those on their way toward one began their training with some degree of uncertainty. As they began their training, their self-confidence built very quickly. With that came accomplishment.

How long does it take to earn a Black Belt?

A

Once again, it is up to the individual and the commitment they are ready to make. With steady training and hard work, the average time is approximately 3-4 years

How many levels must be achieved before a Black Belt is earned?

A

Stduents begin training with a white belt. There are 6 subsequent levels: yellow, orange, green, blue, brown and then junior/adult Black Belt

What results should a student expect within the first year?

A

A much improved feeling about themselves physically, greater self-confidence and a good basic knowledge of self-defense. The first results should be evident within the first few months.

Are there any physical limitations?

A

If you are overweight, underweight, out of shape or in great condition, we have a martial arts training program suited to your needs.
